Levittown:
Levittown was one of the suburban areas that contained cookie cutter neighborhoods and houses that look almost identical. They started to become more popular as more and more white people starting moving out there. Immigrants coming and living in the cities also plays a big role int he making of these suburban neighborhoods because the whites didn't like the fact that there were people, who were not white, moving into the cities. This was known as the white flight. Moving into the suburban area also gave white people the modern conveniences that made living easier, such as the toaster oven, the vacuum, the car, the refrigerator, etc.

Rock n' Roll
During this time rock n' roll was really big the with the general population. As many people know, Elvis was one of the main rock n' roll artists that all of the younger people listened to. Fun fact: although he was very famous, most of the parents thought his dancing and his songs were something created by satan. They disliked everything about Elvis because of the way he danced and what his song portrayed. The Beatles were also a very big group back then and they had the haircut that was the "cool" haircut back then, which was the bowl cut. Another thing that was very popular was Drive-Thru diners, it was a place to show off your car and listen to music and hang out.
