LBJ'S "great society"
JFK'S Assassination:
On November 22, 1963 Kennedy was on his way to Dallas Texas. He set up sort of a motorcade/parade. His car was a topless car, which was obviously not a good idea. When they passed the Texas School Book Depository, there was a gun shot and Kennedy was hit. Then instant terror spread throughout the area because there were a bunch of people watching his motorcade pass through. He was pronounced dead at 1:00 pm. They caught his shooter, Lee Harvey Oswald, and arrested him. Before they could get any information out of Oswald, a nightclub owner stepped out and shit him in the stomach, killing him. The day that Kennedy got killed, Lyndon B. Johnson was put into office that same day.

Lyndon B. Johnson:
Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in the same day of Kennedy's assassination. He was known for a lot of good things. An example was the Civil Rights Bill, which was the bill that banned discrimination based of gender or race in employment and it ended segregation in all public facilities. Another was the Voting Rights Bill, which was the bill that made all of the literacy tests illegal and also banned other ways of illegally stopping people from voting. Johnson also invented Medicare, which is government subsidized health insurance for the elderly, and the National Endowment for the Arts, which was when he put public money into artists and galleries. He also built on the JFK Peace Corps by creating a massive system of volunteer work in the U.S especially in schools. Then some things started to go downhill when money started going to Southeast Asia.
