Malcolm X:
When he was young he lived and grew up in Lansing, Michigan. He developed a mistrust for white people after the Klu Klux Klan burned down his house and then his father got murdered. After he moved to Harlem he turned to crime and was arrested and jailed. While he was in prison, he had a sudden eye opener. He made decisions to change his life and educate himself. He was influenced by other inmates and converted himself to Islam. A guy named Wallace Fard founded the Nation of Islam in 1930. He claimed that Christianity was the white mans religion. Christianity was forced on African Americans during the slave experience. Islam was closer to African roots and identity. While MLK preached how he wanted change and peace, Malcolm was saying how the whites were not to be trusted in any way. he even promoted to establish a state where only African Americans were allowed. Event though his life ended, the ideas he preached lived on the Black Power Movement.
