Sit-ins:
Sit-ins was an act of peaceful protesting. It all started when four African American college students went to a whites only lunch bar and sat down, waiting to be served. When the servers refused to serve them hey would continue to sit there. Despite all of the threats and redness coming form the white people, they would continue to sit there until they got kicked out. Once they got kicked out another set of four African American college students would take their place. The only violence that came out of this was from the white people, because they would threaten to fight them, and some of them actually did, but when the African American person was attacked they would curl up into a ball, not fight back. Before the end of the school year almost 1,500 demonstrators were arrested for participating in these sit-ins.
